The Main Link Art Studio

Sandra Smith Paintings 2009 Opening Reception November 13th 4-7PM Towanda Main Link
The Main Link Art Studio provides instruction in painting and drawing techniques to members in both locations, Towanda and Sayre. Classes are held two days per week at each place for a total of 10 hours of instruction. Art Studio encompasses all of the essential elements in the art making process from conception and development of the subject matter, choice of materials and size of art work, through the painting or drawing procedure to completion, matting, framing and display. Many artists sell their work at The Main Links' galleries, the Anti-stigm Art Show at the Courthouse as well as various conferences and exhibits around Pennsylvania.
The Art Studio experience enhances self esteem and offers an opportunity for spontaneous socialization. Work from the Art Studio serves to demonstrate the competency, diversity and creativity of mental health consumers which helps fight the stigma associated with mental illness.
Mark and Anne Beauchemin hold classes in Sayre while Kent Mitchell (a member since 1995, and also the first Chairman of the Main Link Board of Directors) conducts the classes in Towanda.
