The Guthrie Cancer Center Support Group meets monthly to provide emotional and social support for men and women with cancer. Join us as we encourage one another, share information and offer education and additional resources. Participants are welcome to share their experiences about coping, survivorship and triumphing in spite of adversity. The series of seminars will cover common treatment areas of concern such as fatigue, nutrition, cognitive restoration, stress and anxiety, and ‘chemo brain”. Registration is not required, but encouraged for notification of meeting changes. For more information or to RSVP, contact Emily Scrivener, Social Worker for the Guthrie Cancer Center, at 570-887-2721.

Facilitating the support group will be Rev. Jeffrey Wilkinson, Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator and Karen Robinson, Hospice Social Worker. Topics include the grieving process, coping skills and communication and stress management. The Community Bereavement Support Group is an outreach community service sponsored by Guthrie Hospice that is intended for anyone who has experienced a loss. The phases of grief are universal; the way each person passes through each phase is different. By attending the Community Bereavement Support Group, you will find support from others who have suffered a loss and will know that you are not alone in your grieving process. Please call Guthrie Hospice at 1-800-598-6155 to register or with any questions that you may have about grief or the Bereavement Support Group.
